A new job..

May 15, 2007

I went in to “sign up” for my new summer job. My cousin runs a catering business, and gave me a job for the summer (along with my twin brother – Cubbie, and close friend – Rachel). Basically all we had to do was go in and fill out a bunch of paper work.

I have to pretend like I don’t know her. Or my other two cousins that work there. That’s going to be really hard, but I think they just don’t want us to be treated differently than the other employees.

I’m really excited for my first week of work that has a total of about 30 hours! This is probably the first time I’ve ever had a 30 hour work week, and I probably shouldn’t be so excited about so much work.. but I really need the money. I’m a poor college student after all.

Unfortunately the job probably wont be able to offer 30 hours to me every week so I have to try and find another job. I could have had a full-time job at CapTel (a company that types up phone messages for phones owned by deaf people).. but I decided that it’s just a little too far from home and a huge commitment because they want me to continue working there throughout the school year.

So.. I’m still searching. I really should start searching more actively. Any ideas for good places for a college girl to work over the summer?

** PS. I added a new side box – for song of the day, check it out daily!

I hope you enjoy your new job. I don’t have any recommendations for where you should work. I’m clueless. Good luck, though!

I like the song you have listed today in the side box. It’s very beautiful.

Song of The Month

Shadow of the Day
by Linkin Park

I close both locks below the window
I close both blinds and turn away
Sometimes solutions aren't so simple
Sometimes goodbye's the only way

And the sun will set for you,
The sun will set for you.
And the shadow of the day,
Will embrace the world in grey,
And the sun will set for you.

Pink cards and flowers on your window
Your friends all plead for you to stay
Sometimes beginnings arent so simple
Sometimes goodbye's the only way
