Update..

The interviews went well. I got both jobs, if I wanted them. I already turned down the day care job because they were only going to pay me 7.50/hour to work as an assistant teacher for a group of two year olds.. and I would have to work 9 hours everyday Monday-Friday. Thats too much of a commitment for me this summer. I keep missing the woman at the data entry company. I’m sure that job will work out. My aunt also talked about an office job she might be able to get me – and the office is located right near my apartment I’m moving into in August for school.

And thats the job update… I’ll tell ya about the weekend’s party in my next entry.

Job interviews already?

I got down and busy yesterday and I sent out my resume to a couple companies online (in the wee hours of the morning – before I went to bed for the previous day) and then I went out to a few other places that I knew were hiring. I submitted applications to Curves and the YMCA Child Care center.

As soon as I got done turning in my applications, I got a phone call from one of the companies I e-mailed my resume to. Its a company that does data entry – so basically I would sit at a computer and enter stuff into a database. They asked me in for an interview for the following day (today). I got up bright and early to get ready for my interview. Shortly after getting out of the shower and I got a phone call from the other place I sent my resume to, a day care. We scheduled an interview for later today too.

My first interview went really well. They offered me the job, and even may give me a more important (and higher paying) position. The only problem with this job is that its kind of far away from my house and doesn’t pay a whole lot. So with gas prices as they are, it may not be the most economical choice.

I leave in about two hours for my second interview at the day care. I love kids – so this could be a really amazing opportunity for me! Wish me luck! =)

A new job..

I went in to “sign up” for my new summer job. My cousin runs a catering business, and gave me a job for the summer (along with my twin brother – Cubbie, and close friend – Rachel). Basically all we had to do was go in and fill out a bunch of paper work.

I have to pretend like I don’t know her. Or my other two cousins that work there. That’s going to be really hard, but I think they just don’t want us to be treated differently than the other employees.

I’m really excited for my first week of work that has a total of about 30 hours! This is probably the first time I’ve ever had a 30 hour work week, and I probably shouldn’t be so excited about so much work.. but I really need the money. I’m a poor college student after all.

Unfortunately the job probably wont be able to offer 30 hours to me every week so I have to try and find another job. I could have had a full-time job at CapTel (a company that types up phone messages for phones owned by deaf people).. but I decided that it’s just a little too far from home and a huge commitment because they want me to continue working there throughout the school year.

So.. I’m still searching. I really should start searching more actively. Any ideas for good places for a college girl to work over the summer?

** PS. I added a new side box – for song of the day, check it out daily!

And the grades roll in..

I got my last grade in today, I knew I had nothing to worry about. I managed an overall grade of about a 98% in my Journalism class.

Which puts me at a 4.0 for this semester. I never thought it was possible, straight As in college. Now that I’ve done it once, I guess there’s no turning back!

So take that.. Biology, Psychology, University Writing: Contemporary Public Issues, Journalism, and Career Explorations! All 17 credits! Woo!

As sad at it is..

I’ve realized that blogdrive has officially died. New technology has surfaced, and this new website well.. it pretty much rocks. There really is no other way to describe it. From now on, I will blog here.

So new lifestyle, and new blog. This should be fun!

Shadow of the Day
by Linkin Park

I close both locks below the window
I close both blinds and turn away
Sometimes solutions aren't so simple
Sometimes goodbye's the only way

And the sun will set for you,
The sun will set for you.
And the shadow of the day,
Will embrace the world in grey,
And the sun will set for you.

Pink cards and flowers on your window
Your friends all plead for you to stay
Sometimes beginnings arent so simple
Sometimes goodbye's the only way
